Office for the Day – Café Dharma

I come here once or twice a week to practice yoga but I usually arrive in a fluster then float out of the door straight afterwards, rarely taking time to enjoy the other area of peace; their Vegetarian / Vegan Café. So today – I’m doing just that.

I also took the 9am Core, Cardio and Upper Body class, so my laptop is on my lap so that I don’t have to raise my arms to table height! (even if I could…)

The café has plenty on offer, from all of your usual coffees (even my own favourite Americano with a spoon of coconut oil), some healthy snacks such as 9 Bars and popcorn plus delicious homemade cakes and bakes.

Having just undergone a major renovation in the new yoga studio, the café is in process of a face lift too having recently received a beautiful new counter – all up-cycled from old pallets. The mural on the wall was painted by a local artist and regular yogi – Steve Dowson and Martin, the proprietor, is sat quietly tapping away on his own laptop in between chatting with customers.

Their new menu is set to be released soon and will consist of ciabattas, sandwiches, wraps and more delicious home baked goodies.

The whole place just oozes community spirit – it’s a place I can say that I feel comfortable and relaxed as if I were at home. Although I didn’t get much work done on account of knowing most of the people who come here, I did get to catch up with lots of them though.
